Naturopathy

Naturopathy is based on the belief that the body has a natural ability to heal itself, given the right conditions.  The right conditions involve eating what suits the individual person and living in an environment that supports their wellbeing.  Any of the individual’s emotional or physical symptoms are included in this approach.

The trick is to get the body in to a state of balance where wellbeing becomes possible. Symptoms are considered to derive from weaknesses (or ‘blockages’) in the body’s vital force (qi / prana). The strength of the vital force is improved using natural, non-invasive techniques and remedies.  So I may use naturopathic nutrition, cleanses or other approaches and add other modalities such as herbs (www.urhp.com) and techniques such as NAET® (www.naeteurope.com), and ThetaHealing® (www.nationalthetahealing.co.uk), depending on what suits you and your needs or requirements.

The aim is to treat the symptoms and their underlying causes, so that the body’s environment no longer supports the symptoms and is strong or ‘balanced’ enough to withstand any fresh onslaughts of viruses, bacterial infection, fungi and parasites.  One typical example of this would be candidiasis. We all have candida cells in our bodies but when the stomach acid is weak and the rest of the system therefore more acidic than is optimal, candida cells can change and cause problems of fermentation in the gut leading to candidiasis. Restoring a good pH balance, by alkalising the diet, eliminating allergies and sensitivities, using ‘belief work’, herbal remedies and so on, means your body’s ‘environment’ can alter so one that it is no longer suitable for candiasis to continue and along that path of change, you learn the techniques to maintain this newfound state of health.
